Singer zig-zag snap-on foot featuring a lock in button when used with presser foot holder #HP32968. This is the general purpose foot used for many applications. When sewing heavy fabrics or seams. Push the button located at the right of the foot and lower the foot. This will lock the foot in a fixed possition to help prevent the front of the foot from lifting up, thus pushing the seam away.
